The Track Cars
An evolution of going fast.
Back In 2000, I was doing some drag and autocross stuff. Then a great friend made me aware of the Carguys.com corner worker program.. Work Corners for credits towards free roadcourse track time! A new era started.
Lot's of Cars, Lot's of Modifications, Lots of Lost $$
Current Car. 94 Mustang GT. Cobra Brakes, Maximum Motorsports Suspension, basic bolt on engine performance parts.
94 Mustang Fobra. This started my RWD track adventure.
It was such a pretty car :)
98 Neon SOHC ACR Sedan. Ton's of suspension develpment, including sperical rod end rear lateral arms, custom built coil over struts, and fully race-prepped motor. Sold to a guy in TN, he was going to swap his very high HP turbo motor into my car.. His car was falling apart, and had no suspension development at all.
Everything was removed behind the front seats for weight reduction, no headliner, no rear panels, no sound deadening anywhere. I loved the through the dash SkyTec Full Cage.
86 Honda CRX Si - ZC motor swap was already done. I added some basic suspension upgrades, and an autopower 4 point bar.
Aint it purty? Not really, 13yr old Red paint needs to be refreshed :)
Heading to the Track!
Whoops. Over 10K track miles, and 1 crash. Everything but the chasis swapped into the Red Car.
BlackDog Motorsports built SOHC LongBlock. 10.5:1 Forged CP Pistons, Eagle Forged Rods, Fully Ported and Polished Head, Crane #014 Camshaft. Dual runner Intake Manifold, all the bolt on parts, BlackDog custom header, 2.5" exhaust. 160whp/134ftlbs in a 2000lb car.
The arrival, I bought this car right after the previous owner competed in the SCCA nationals at Mid-Ohio. SSC = Showroom Stock!
This was the 1st car I used for the track. I ended up selling it to get the Neon. It was sold to a guy in Virginia Beach, and after a short time - I see the car at every carguys event! The current owner has turned the car into an awesome handling machine!
85 Honda CRX Si. I bought this car from a SCCA racer. It never saw a race track, other than some touring laps at CMP. I was hit on the driver side by a person running a red light - on my way to meet a bunch of friends.. To see the opening night of The Fast and Furious :) Whooops. Good thing for Insurance!
